CM launches free CT Scan service

Majuli, Jan 3: In yet another initiative to plug infrastructural gap in the river island Majuli, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal launched free CT Scan service under ‘Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Services’ at Shri Shri Pitambar Dev Goswami Civil Hospital of the district on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal expressed hope that the newly introduced service would greatly benefit the people of the district. He emphasised on maintaining cleanliness in the health institutions and urged the people to extend full cooperation with the hospital authorities in this regard.  Stating that the state government has taken up several new schemes to ensure quality health care service in the govt. health institutions, Sonowal urged the people to take the benefit of schemes like Atal Amrit Yoja, CM Free Diagnostic Scheme etc.

The new CT Scan machine has been installed with an expenditure of Rs. 2 crore. Moreover, under Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Services, X-Ray and Laboratory services were introduced at Majuli during 2017 and the services have so far benefitted 2041 and 4523 patients respectively.  Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, ATDC Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah, Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha and officials of health department were present on the occasion.
