SHILLONG, February 27: Taking cognizance about the absence of a collective functioning of the State line departments at the field level in magement of Shillong city, Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has directed the Public Works Department and State Police to have a review meeting to sort out the problems of the pedestrians in the city.

However, he was candid in saying “Please hold a review meeting with the officials of the PWD and make sure to have zebra crossings in all these points.”

Sangma also asked the Shillong Municipal board to utilize the CCTV control room for auditing the services rendered by the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB).

The Chief Minister’s direction to three departments assumed significance since all the departments are not working in tandem in maging the city.
