CM presents cheque of Rs 10 lakh to boxer Ankushita

GUWAHATI, Dec 4: Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today felicitated boxer Ankushita Boro  for her medal winning performance in the World Women’s Youth Boxing Championship. During the function he also presented her with a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh which State Government was earlier announced for her success in the World Women’s Youth boxing.
The young boxer from Assam won a gold medal in the 64 kg weight category and also adjudged best boxer award of the meet.
Speaking at the felicitation programme, held at Chief Minister’s Conference Room at Jata Bhawan,  Sonowal said, “Sports is the most potential zone in Assam and the youth of the state have a tural kck for it. The government would leave no stone unturned to provide the best possible facilities to the young sportspersons.”
He also added: “ We will extend support to all the sportspersons who have already made the state proud in intertiol events”. 
Meanwhile congratulating Ankushita Boro on her recent feat, Chief Minister Sonowal today advised her to work hard with perseverance to emerge as a disciplined sportsperson and win more medals in intertiol and world championships..
“Ankushita Boro’s achievement is a great inspiration for the young generation of Assam and has entrenched people’s faith in the abilities of our sportspersons. The positive environment which has been generated by her success is our greatest achievement”, said Sonowal.
