CM Sarbananda Sonowal discusses law-and-order situation in State

Dibrugarh: Apprehending spurt of terrorist activities in the Upper Assam districts in coming days, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held a meeting with senior civil and officials of police, paramilitary and army at the DC office here on Sunday. The meeting, attended by DGP Kuladhar Saikia, Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, Alok Kumar, G.O.C, DAH Division of Army, Additional DGP and DIG, Eastern Railway, and police supers and DCs of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Sivsagar, Charaideo, Golaghat and Majuli, discussed existing law-and-order situation of the respective districts in threadbare.

Sonowal directed the attending official to take all out security steps for maintaining law order in their respective district and prevent all form of terrorist acts. He also emphasized the need for social security and protection of life and properties of 68 lakh families living in the State. The Chief Minister also directed the police supers to initiate security steps so that the forthcoming panchayat election could be held in the State in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
