TINSUKIA, March 26: Close on the heels of Prime Minister rendra Modi’s election rally in Tinsukia, the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi addressed two election meetings in Tinsukia district on Saturday.
At a moderately attended public meeting at Makum bypass about 8 km from here, Gogoi castigated the rendra Modi government for deceiving the State from its share which led to the curtailment of major development projects.
Gogoi claimed that the BJP did not have any definite plan and agenda nor was capable of overthrowing the Congress. Gogoi in a satirical manner proclaimed himself as Lachit Borphukan and branded Modi as Mughal invader in the ongoing poll battle. Criticizing Modi, Gogoi observed that Modi had actually lost his vision and developed cataract as he failed to see any developmental works in the State. The Congress candidates from Tinsukia and Doomdooma, RP Singh and Gautam Dhanwar respectively were introduced to the audience. Earlier district president Jayanta Kalita welcomed the guests and the visitors. Tarun Gogoi also attended another election meeting at Sadiya today.
