CM stresses synergistic approach between public representatives and government servants

Tezpur, August 21: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal appealed to all officers and employees of various departments of Sonitpur district to maintain a close liaison with the MLAs to effectively implement various developmental schemes of the government.

Chairing an interactive meeting with the heads of the Departments of Sonitpur district during his one-day tour to the district, at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Tezpur, Chief Minister Sonowal said that for serving the people better, there should be a synergistic approach between the government servants and public representatives, stated a press release. He asked the heads of the departments to take inputs and suggestions from the MLAs concerned for the timely execution of all the ongoing schemes of the government.

Taking stock of the progress of Deendayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yoja, Chief Minister Sonowal asked the department concerned to take steps for the speedy completion of the project to provide lights to all households of the district within a stipulated time frame.

Sonowal also reviewed the progress of the ongoing NRC update process in the district and asked the officials concerned to complete the process on war-footing as per guidelines of the Supreme Court of India. He also took stock of the functioning of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and asked the officials to carry out market inspection on a regular basis and put a tab on price rise of essential commodities. He also asked the department to act swiftly on any complaints on price rise.

Moreover, Sonowal asked the Joint Director of Health to revamp the immunization process in the district and carry out regular monitoring on the materl and infant health in the district. He also asked the Joint Director, Health to ensure regular inspection on the cleanliness in all the health centres of the district in line with the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.

The Chief Minister called upon all the officials to render their services with empathy so that the government can take everybody ‘on board’ and materialize the government’s motto of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’.

Minister of State (i/c) for Power, Pallab Locan Das, MLA Padma Hazarika, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami, Deputy Commissioner of the district, Loya Madhuri, Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parashar and all departmental heads were present at the meeting.
