CM to receive Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha Award

TINSUKIA, May 22: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will be conferred the Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha Award during the 213th celebration of Sarbananda Singha Divas on May 27. The four-day elaborate Muttok Ethnic Cultural Convention to commemorate the historical king of the Muttok kingdom, beginning on May 24 and organized at the ITI field, will witness competitions, workshop on career counseling, ethnic convention while special emphasis has been laid on display of folk dance, folklore and folk customs. Addressing a press meet, Dhorani Gohain, secretary of Muttok Yuba Chatra Sanmilan, said all Muttok organizations would hoist their respective flags on May 24 while floral tribute would be paid to the statue of King Sarbananda Singha at Tinkunia Pukhuri after performing Bhagavat recitation at the naamghar near the Pukhuri (water tank). A cultural procession will be taken out on May 27 which will be followed by open session where the Chief Minister will be conferred the Saugodau Sarbananda Singha Award, besides felicitating few noted citizens for their outstanding contribution in the society.
