CM to take part in Intertiol Yoga Day programme in Majuli

Jorhat, June 20: Preparations have been completed in Majuli to observe the second Intertiol Yoga Day on June 21. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and head priests of all vaisviate mosteries in Majuli will take part in the State based programme among others. About 90,000 square feet carpet area in four pandals has been kept ready in Majuli to observe Intertiol Yoga Day. The programme is being organized by the Government of Assam where over 5,000 people from different parts in the district will take part in the event. Majuli Sub Divisiol Officer rasingh Pawar said, “Over 5,000 people from different parts in the district will take part in the event besides Chief Minister, the State Health Minister and Xatradhikars of xatras here. We have completed our preparations for the State-based programme at Majuli College playground situated at Doriadubi. We have built four pandals covering 90,000 sq.ft carpet area for the yoga practice.”  He added that the programme would at 6.30 am followed by interaction of the Chief Minister with different organizations and individuals. Sarbanda Sonowal will visit his constituency Majuli for the first time after becoming the Chief Minister. He is scheduled to take part in separate interactions with people from both political and non-political fields, besides an interaction with the Xatradhikars.  He will also iugurate a students’ felicitation programme in Majuli.
