The Chief Minister unveiled a statue of Chilaray  today in North Salmara.  He also laid the foundation stone of a bridge over Kujia river in Salmara-Tulungia connecting PWD road and Chapaguri to Lengtisinga connecting road. Chandan Sarkar, Irrigation Minister of Assam and local MLA, Bhumidhar Barman, State Revenue Minister and many others were present in these programmes.

Condemning Rameswar Teli’s comment that writers were taking bribe from Congress to return awards, Gogoi said that this was very shameful. “A responsible man should not make such comments. Writers like Homen Borgohain are pride of Assam. Before this, several times he criticized Congress also. But we never said that he was taking bribe from BJP. Writers are independent and they always dare to speak for truth and justice. Teli’s comment is very shameful,” he said.
