CM urged to expedite developmental works in Biswath district

Biswath Chariali, May 11: A delegation representing Biswath District Development Committee led by minister Ranjit Dutta met Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal on Thursday at Jata Bhavan and submitted him a memorandum urging to expedite the developmental works in Biswath district.

The demands included setting up of all the district headquarters of government offices, including education, health, PWD and transport. The delegation also demanded release of required funds for the town area development of Biswath Chariali and Gohpur towns, eviction of encroachments in government and forest lands, solution to the flood and erosion problems, setting up of a cultural museum at the district headquarter, among others. Chief Minister Sonowal assured all possible help to the team for fulfillment of the demands.

The team comprising Biswath MLA Pramod Borthakur, Gohpur MLA Utpal Borah, Hiranya Hazarika, Dr Madhav Borah, Kamal Ch Bhuyan, Prabhu Singh, Bibek Duarah and Kamal Saikia also met Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowari and PWD minister Parimal Shuklavaidya in this respect.
