CM visits LNIPE

GUWAHATI, June 27: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today visited Lakshmibhai tiol Institute of Physical Education at Tapesia Sports complex. He was accompanied by Sports Minister Ajit Singh and MLA  Akon Bora during this visit  which came as a part of series of steps to streamline the available sports infrastructures and facilities in the State. .During a brief interaction with the office bearers of the Institute Gogoi today assured all possible helps to make the Institute a state-of-the-art sporting venue and education centre.

It may be mentioned that the Lakshmibai tiol Institute of Physical Education, North East Regiol Centre, Guwahati was established in 2009-10 with the approval of Government of India and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Government of Assam and LNIPE.

Currently the Lakshmibai tiol Institute of Physical Education has a  multipurpose indoor hall with provision for Handball Courts, Badminton Courts, Weight Lifting Hall, Gymsium, Judo Hall, Table-Tennis, Boxing Ring and yoga hall besides other infrastructure which includes Cycling Vellodrome, Kayaking and Canoeing facility, Football Ground, Volley Ball Courts, Kho-kho Ground, Kabaddi Ground and others. This is stated in a press release.
