CM’s maiden visit to home district

Itagar, April 18: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul in his maiden visit to home district Anjaw visited under construction Polytechnique College at Hawai on Sunday.

He inspected the under construction academic block and directed the executing agency, EE PWD and the contractor to expedite the works, an official report informed.

He asked them to increase the working hours and to work in double shift to complete in time. He fixed the completion time of Academic Block by August 15. He said that the admission and session will start from the coming year for this college.

He directed the EE PWD to expedite the works of staff quarters and hostel buildings. He asked the department to complete soling work of the link road to the Polytechnique College at the earliest.

He asked the Deputy Commissioner of Anjaw to strictly monitor the progress of the work and to specially depute an officer for the purpose. He asked her to send him weekly progress report of the college. He also asked them to send proposal for construction of guest house and playground for the college at Hawaii.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Mohesh Chai, MLA Tezu, Laisam Simai, MLA mpong, Heyomai Tawsik, ZPC Anjaw, Mamata Riba, DC Anjaw, Guni Pertin, SP Anjaw among others.

The Chief Minister had an interaction with the HoDs of the district in the DC Office conference hall in the evening. He discussed in details regarding the implementation of various schemes and projects in the district with HoDs on one to one basis.

In his interaction with the HoDs, he appealed them to work for peace, progress, development and prosperity of the state wholeheartedly with sincerity and dedication irrespective of the area where they work.

He asked them to take up result orientation schemes/projects on priority basis, to fix completion target for that project and to ensure completion of the project on speculated time.

He also asked them to involve local legislators and panchayat leaders while preparing projects and schemes saying that they have the idea of local needs and situations.

As he wants the government to be transparent and accountable, he urged them to maintain transparency and accountability in implementation of various government schemes and programme and told them to expedite the works in progress and said “there will be no compromise on quality of works”.

He asked the HoDs to remain up to date and update the datas on quaterly basis. He also asked the HoDs of work departments to make site inspection, to remain up to date with the progress of the work and to be accurate with the data.

Citing peace as prerequisite for development, Pul told the DC and the SP to strongly deal with the law-breakers and trouble-makers saying that he will make no interference with the law enforcing authorities.

While assuring to give full support from the government in law and order maintence, he asked the district administration and police to work boldly without any fear, the report added.
