CMSS activists burn Ajmal's effigy

MARGHERITA, January 24: Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS) Margherita Regiol Committee on Sunday burnt the effigy of AIUDF chief and Dhubri MP Maula Badruddin Ajmal at NH 38 Segunbari Tiniali, Margherita. Lakhyajyoti Gogoi, president of CMSS Tinsukia district committee, said that AIUDF chief and Dhubri MP Maula Badruddin Ajmal had recently made an inflammatory speech wherein he asked all the minority people in Assam to unite or they would soon have to go to some other place. Gogoi said that Assam was the land of Mahapurush Sankardev and Ajan Pir Fakir but vested interests were trying to create commul unrest in the State with inflammatory speeches. “We will not allow political party leaders of Assam to sow commul seeds in Assam and we demand that Maula Badrauddin Ajmal should be arrested soon. Political or non-political leaders of Assam who make commul comments or inflammatory speeches should be arrested within 24 hours. Also, there must be a close watch on social media sites,” said Gogoi. CMSS activists shouted various slogans against Ajmal. A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Margherita administration.
