CMSS stages dhar against disinvestment in OIL

DULIAJAN, July 15 : The activists of Chhatra Mukti Sangram Samity (SMSS) staged a dhar in front of OIL’s Registered Office & Field Head Quarter, Duliajan  for three hours on Wednesday in protest against the rendra Modi government’s  initiatives for disinvestment of paid –up equity shares from public offer.

In protest against this disinvestment of equity shares, at first the protesters took out a rally from Duliajan Bihutoli and later they assembled near OIL’s Registered Office. Around 200 protesters raised various slogans against the BJP government and OIL officials. During the protest, some protesters tried to enter the office of the Security Department of OIL.

The protesters demanded immediate cancellation of the decision taken by the Central Government for disinvestment of 10 per cent equity shares from public offer to private company and demanded initiatives for allotment of 10 per cent shares to Oil India Limited, recruitment of 50 per cent Director Level (Independent) Posts in OIL from Assam, white paper on decrease of crude oil production for last three years and initiatives by OIL authority for land-affected paddy planters. Pranjit Deka, GM of OIL, Dilip Das, Head PR (OIL) and GC Medhi, Head (ADMN) discussed with the protesters about their issues but they demanded RCE to come to the protest site. Later ,they submitted a memorandum to OIL authority.
