CMSS stages hunger strike in Golaghat

Golaghat (Dhekial), February 6: The activists of Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS) Golaghat district staged a 12-hour hunger strike near the Deputy Commissioner’s office of Golaghat on Monday demanding supply of textbooks to the students.

More than 100 activists of the organization shouted slogans against State Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. They condemned the BJP-led Assam Government for failing to provide textbooks to the students on time.

President and secretary of CMSS, Mril Kumar th, Prodip Gogoi and Keshab Bora respectively said that State Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had failed to provide textbooks to the students. They demanded immediately supply of textbooks to the students otherwise they would launch massive agitation in the coming days. In this regard, they submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner, Golaghat.

In the programme, publicity secretary Satyabrat Saikia, Arindom Tamuly, Pulin Saikia, Ratul Bora and Kashyap ndan Kalita were present.
