HOJAI, Dec 21: A one day co–operative awareness camp was held at Langin Pamgaon Higher Secondary in Karbi Anglong district recently to create awareness among LAMPS and rural people about co–operatives.
The topics discussed during the camp were credit–deposit mobalization, mini banking system among the cooperative societies and scope of development of rural areas through co–operative movement.
Sharat Brahma, in–charge Executive Member of Co–Operation, Soil Conservation and Town and Country Planning of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council(KAAC), in his speech stressed development of rural areas and economic uplift through co–operative movements.
Later, resource person Dr K Meitei, Director, Institute of Co operative Magement (ICM), Guwahati, along with faculty of ICM, H. Das spoke on the subject.The meeting was chaired by Kavita Rani Das, Additiol Registrar of Co operative Society, (Hills) Diphu and attend by UB Deka , Deputy Registrar Co operative Society, Karbi Anglong, SR Samadhar, Assistant Registrar of Co operative of Hamren, Longbir Teron, Assistant, chairmen and secretaries of LAMPS, Co– operative Societies under Howraghat and Diphu subdivision and officials.
