Coal-laden truck seized, five arrested

DIGBOI, April 23: A team of Bordumsa Police led by Jai Sankar Wary, the OC of Bordumsa in Tinsukia district, seized an illegal coal -laden truck at Goju Tili in Bordumsa. Five persons were arrested and prosecuted on Thursday morning.

The accused were involved in the illegal trade since long, procuring the material from Kharsang in Changlang district of Aruchal Pradesh. They have been identified as  Bitu Phukon (38) of Kharsang  Housing Tili, Kishan Dorjee (19) of Parbotiour in Lakhapani, Pu Sonowal alias Dipen Sonowal (47) of Goju Village in Bordumsa on the Aruchal side, Bhuban Gogoi (50) of New Mohong on the Aruchal side and  Suraj Thapa (19) of Sunpura in Tinsukia district.

Talking to The Sentinel, Jai Sankar Wary said that the arrested miscreants who were involved in the illegal coal trade had become a mece for the police and after a long chase, the team had successfully bbed them.

A case has been registered at 24/2015 at Bordumsa Police Station, thus prosecuting all  five  accused under section 379 IPC, R/w sec 3 of PDPP Act.
