Collection of poems released at Tangla

TANGLA, Jan 31: “When you have fresh thoughts in your mind, you tend to create something exceptiol for the society in the form of literary works and that will only help mankind in the long run,” said senior jourlist, lawyer and former Professor of Tangla College, Dr Keshab Chandra Dutta while iugurating the first issue of Khola Kitaap, a collection of poems by budding poets published by Sky Touch, a Tangla-based organization for art, literature and culture, at a ceremonial  programme at Tangla HS School recently.

Khola Kitaap literally translates as an open book of poetry collection made in an effort to give platform to the budding poets of the State. The first issue of Khola-Kitaap has as many as 16 poems composed by 16 poets from various parts of the State. The programme earlier  began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by educationist and former Professor of Tangla College, Binoy Kumar Medhi, followed by an interactive session on ‘Kobitar Chorcha Aaru Samprotik Kobitar Dhara’. The programme was also attended by Dr Hemalata Devi, lecturer of Tangla College, Gauri Sankar Das, Ranji Saikia Deka, artist Gyanendra Baruah and poet Prafulla Anjan Deka.  Gracing the occasion, Jayanta Kumar Bhattacharya, assistant general secretary of AASU promised to give every possible support to Sky-Touch in their campaign of Khola-Kitaap in the days to come.
