'Collective effort needed to reach 100 per cent immunization work'

Dibrugarh, September 29: The Special Immunization Mission, an initiative of the Health Department of the Government of Assam, was formally launched in a ceremony held here at the State Dispensary, Dibrugarh, on Thursday.

 The ceremonial ritual of lighting the traditiol lamp was carried out by the Joint Director of District Health Department, Dr. Udayan Kumar Baruah.  In his speech he stated that as currently 91 per cent immunization work had been completed in the district, collective effort of one and all was needed to reach the 100 per cent mark in the entire district.

The District Immunization Officer, Dr. Suniti Gogoi ; Additiol Chief Medical and Health Officer , Dr. Prashanta Goswami ; State Observer of Special Immunization Mission, Dr. Rashmi Ahmed, Sub divisiol Medical and Health Officer, Dr. bajyoti Gogoi and Project Mager of tiol Health Mission, Manisha Buragohain, who attended the meeting, also spoke about the importance of the Special Immunization Mission in their respective deliberations.

The meeting was anchored by District Media Expert of tiol Health Mission, Debanga Bikas Gogoi.

The District Health Department has called upon the people of Dibrugarh to support the mission as part of their social responsibility by immunizing their own children and convincing others, a DIPRO press communiqué stated.
