College employees' convention begins

Rangia, Oct 26: The 48th bi-annual  central convention of All Assam College Employees’ Association started with a three-day programme from Wednesday. About 400 delegates from the entire State are attending the convention. The convention  started with the iuguration of the  Prof rendra Kalita Memorial main gate by Bhabesh Kalita, MLA of Rangia constituency. The gate was doted by Golapi Kalita, the wife of Prof rendra Kalita.  The last central executive meeting was held. The meeting was presided over by Sarat Kalita, president of the association.  The delegate session was iugurated by Dr. Jogesh Kakoty, former Principal of Rangia College and president of the reception committee. In the evening, Kailash Karthik N, SDO civil of Rangia, Nilima Deka, former Principal in-charge and Kanika Goswami, Principal of Mabendra Sarma Girls’ College lit the lamp.  SDO (Civil) Karthik also iugurated the cultural programme where the play Comfort Women was staged. The play was directed by Ronhang Chowdhury.
