College student drowns in Gaurang river

KOKRAJHAR, July 12: A college student Birdao Brahma (17), son of Uttam Brahma of Jampwi Bari in Kokrajhar town died after drowning in the River Gaurang near the town on Sunday at around 11 am while he was swimming with his friends. Sources said that Birdao and his friends went to Gaurang River and they were swimming when the unfortute incident happened. Other friends informed about the incident and his body was recovered from the site where they were swimming. Birdao was the only son of Uttam Brahma, an employee of the Irrigation Department. He was a Class XII student of Kokrajhar Government College.
