College students trained in disaster magement

Dibrugarh, June11: The three-day Civil Defense Training Camp held at Lahoal College from June 4 under the initiative of District Civil Defense Department and with the help of the Union Government, concluded successfully.

The training camp was iugurated by the East Revenue Circle Officer, Dipu Deka in the presence of the Deputy Commandment of Dibrugarh District Civil Defense Department and the Principal of Lahoal College. The training camp witnessed the participation of 50 students of Lahoal College. During the course, the participating students were given training on disaster magement, fire safety and first aid treatment of the injured so that at the time of any disaster they can provide help to the people around them.

A workshop and mock drill was also organized in which the students who were trained under the civil defense camp showcased some practical drills on safety measures involved in the rescue of people injured at the time of earthquake. Bikash Saikia and Smaranmani Bordoloi were given training at the camp under the supervision of Deputy Commandment of Civil Defense Department, Deepak Kumar Changmai.
