'College teachers manipulate documents for provincialization'

GAON, May 10: Some teachers of provincialized colleges have allegedly manipulated their appointment letters and joining reports through computerized scanning device and included their mes illegally to get the benefits of provincialization.

The president of Assam College Teachers and Librarians’ Association (ACTLA), Jyoti Prasad Bora alleged that some college teachers who had joined in colleges after December 24, 1998, allegedly manipulated their origil documents like appointment letters and joining reports and doing so they prepared duplicate appointment letters, joining letters to get the benefits of provincialization.  However, according to the Government Provincialized Act, those who got appointed as assistant college teacher up to December 24, 1998 were considered as qualified and provided proper salary and also got exemption from NET, SLET and PhD.

Bora further alleged that some of the Principals and presidents of college magement committees were also involved in this manipulation of documents by some college teachers. He lodged a written complaint to IS of gaon, Director, Higher Education, Deputy Commissioner gaon, Commissioner, Higher Education, Assam against Md. Saiful Islam, Assistant Professor of Hatichung College, who allegedly manipulated his appointment letter and joining report and showed it as May 12, 1998 instead of May 12, 1999, to get the benefit of provincialization.
