College teachers seek regularization of jobs

UDALGURI, Feb 24: The non-provincialised colleges teachers have appealed to the State Education Minister provincialise their services with any delay. The Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Degree College which was established in 1990 and which has a record of students studying more than 2000 in a year was first approved by Gauhati University in 1999. They received concurrence, permission and affiliation in 2005 for the year of 1999-2000 year. The colleges got temporary affiliation for BA part II for the year 2000-2001 on March 11, 2006. The government of Assam had given its concurrence in 1-3-2008 for the academic year 2000-2001. The Gauhati University provided permanent affiliation as per UGC 2 (F) and 12 (B) on July 30, 2010.  The state government’s website has published the Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Degree College’s me considering eligible for provincialisation under Assam Venture Educatiol Institutions (Provincialisation of Services) Act 2011. But the State government has shown no interest to accord provincialisation of remaining 24 colleges in Assam. The college teachers appealed to the State government and the BTC authority to take steps to provincialise the colleges in BTAD region. There are some other colleges in the list including Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Degree College, Orang, Udalguri College (Science Stream), U N Brahma College, Kokrajhar and others.
