Colourful cultural procession marks second day of AMSACON conference

MANGALDAI, Feb 4: Instead of their traditiol identity with the stethoscope around their neck, a total of about 200 government doctors serving in various districts of the State were seen on Saturday on the main thoroughfare of Mangaldai singing, dancing and shouting slogans. The participating doctors took part in the colourful cultural procession to mark the celebration of the second day’s programme of the 44th annual general conference of the AMSA (AMSACON) here on Saturday.

 The cultural procession, which showcased the rich cultural heritage of Assam and particularly of Darrang district, also witnessed display of placards with few valuable messages for the society like ‘Save girl child’ and ‘Small family-happy family’. Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das flagged off the procession at the  new building campus of Maternity and Child Health Hospital (M&CH). It was followed by technical session, delegates meet and cultural evening. Earlier, the second day of the celebration began with the hoisting of the organizatiol flag by president of AMSA Dr. Dilip Deba Sarma followed by smriti tarpan by its secretary Dr Kak Ch Talukdar.
