Committed to introduce e-education: Tuki

Itagar, February 17: The golden jubilee celebration of Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) Pasighat in East Siang district began yesterday in a glittering function in the college premises with Chief Minister bam Tuki declaring the celebration open amidst a galaxy of dignitaries and academicians.

“JNC, a pride of the state has completed 50 years of its vibrant academic voyage, witnessing spectacular achievements including Grade “A” accreditation from AC and UGC recognition as the ‘College with Potential for Excellence’,” Tuki said in his address, an official communiqué said here today.

“I feel excited to visit such institutions, which have done so well, and to see so many young bright faces that thrill my heart because I see in them the future of our country. Fifty years is a long period in history of any institution that you have traveled this long distance with such great commitment, with such great devotion to the academic values is a tribute to founding father of your institution Pt Jawaharlal Nehru who had the vision to create this great institution of learning and Aruchalee’s empowerment,” Tuki said.

The chief minister hoped that JNC would help the students to maintain a balance between excellence and social responsibility.

“They have always successfully imbibed in them a unique spirit of community, secular ideologies and a sense of democratic and institutiol responsibility and above all the celebration of diversity. The institution that belongs at the root of many successful careers today has provided wings to fly and explore and during the Golden Jubilee celebration, we hope to bring all of them back to share with the present students their experiences and memories,” he said.

I have been told that yours is the only college to be listed among the high-ranking colleges in India. This is creditable but you have to aspire to do more with what you are today. I wish you well in years to come,” Tuki added.

The chief minister appreciated the present and former education minister Tapang Taloh and Bosiram Siram for bringing enormous developments in the education sector.

“Pasighat is the epicenter of education and the government has established state university, polytechnic college, IT college, Horticulture college and Agriculture college, private university successfully at Pasighat to promote higher education. The government is also committed to introduce e-Education in Itagar and Pasighat in first phase with the help of Google to impart intertiolly compatible education at the doorsteps,” he disclosed.

The basic challenge for the state, the chief minister said, was the growing number of unemployed youths. The priority for the state government is to create new avenues and opportunities for the youth and for which government has accorded utmost priority with hydropower generation, he added.

Informing about the proposed Aruchal Vision-2030, Tuki said the document would encompass six broad areas- ebling infrastructure, economic potential, social sectors, social harmony, border development and resource mobilization and contain both long-term and medium-term strategies to accelerate the development process.

“Three committees are being constituted to identify challenges, set targets and work out a detailed development strategy for the document including a cabinet committee, a committee of secretaries and a committee of experts. These committees will decide the framework and prepare a draft vision document within six months after consultations, field visits and also incorporating public opinion at the village, block, district and state level,” he said.

“The committees will also propose a comprehensive institutiol mechanism to achieve the targets assigned in the vision document,” he added.

The CM appreciated the East Siang ABK (WW) for their exemplary endeavors to make the society drugs-free. Women members should spread the message of drug de-addiction everywhere, be it home, school or workplace and aware the people to get rid of this mece and elimition of it from the society, he stressed.

Tuki also felicitated the alumni and faculties and assured to sanction five crore for construction of boys hostel in addition providing two buses for the college fraternity.
