Committee formed for Desang-Brahmaputra Festival

JOYSAGAR, March 6: A high-level committee comprising Sivasagar district administration officials and local people of Desangmukh, Sivasagar, was formally formed on Sunday to hold the Desang-Brahmaputra Festival in the historic Desangmukh area of Sivasagar. This is a part of the ‘mani Brahmaputra’ organized by the State Government. The proposed Desang-Brahmaputra festival will be held from March 31 to April 4. The festival aims to focus on the vibrant cultural and socio-economic potential of Desang River and Desang Valley and will try to spread information about the cultural and tourism opportunities so that the entire valley could be developed and the standard of living of the local people could be improved.
