Committee urged minister to stop mass teachers' transfer

Itagar, Nov 13: The School Magement Committees’ of East Siang district on Monday called on Education Minister Honchun Ngandam here and pleaded him to stop mass transfer of teachers from the district during the mid of the academic session.
Altogether 15 members, under the aegis of School Magement Committees Coordition Committee (SMCCC), apprised of the minister that mass transfer of teachers in the mid-session under ratiolization policy of the Education department had hampered the teaching-learning process of students across several schools in the district.
The committee pointed out that as per the State Education Act/Rule of 2010 and 2016, the mid-session transfer shall be considered on exceptiol cases only.
“Mass transfer of 152 teachers in one go from the district cannot be justified as an exceptiol case, for it hampers the students’ learning process,” the committee said.
            The minister and the secretary of the department had assured to discuss the issue and till then transferred teacher would not be released from the district.
