'Common people are disillusioned with the false and tall claims of BJP'

TINSUKIA, November 14: “The Election Commission of India (ECI) is biased. Hence our party has stopped lodging complaints against violation of Model Code of Conduct by any political party. We had lodged complaints several times during the past election but without any result,” said APCC president Ripun Bora at a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Monday, while referring to an election meeting held in a school at Phillobari recently which was addressed by a senior cabinet minister with only school children, in gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Modi’s demonetization had lost all prospects of winning the Lakhimpur by-election and was likely to backfire on the BJP, observed Bora. The common people are completely disillusioned with all the false and tall claims of BJP, and now people seek paritran and not parivartan, said the APCC president.

Bora asserted that the anti-incumbency factor would play a very crucial role in the by-election and the Congress had an edge over the BJP. The number of silent voters had increased many folds which is a clear indication of BJP’s sinking ship, asserted Bora in the press meet.
