Communist leader Anil Baruah’s death anniversary observed

MARGHERITA, Feb 11: Comrade Anil Kumar Baruah’s 20th death anniversary was observed at Axam Xahitya Xabha Bhavan, Tinsukia, by CPI (ML) Tinsukia District Committee with the theme ‘Great November Revolution and 50 years completion of Peasants Uprising at xalbari’.

The meeting was presided over by Amiyo Kumar Lahon, senior Communist leader, where Rubul Das, polit bureau member of CPI (ML), was present as a keynote speaker. Harendra th Borthakur, president of All Assam Ja Sanskritik Parishad, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity leader Mab Chetia, Purno Kakoti, leader of CPI (ML), Amulya Khataniar, Communist thinker and veteran jourlist of Tinsukia, Subhas Sen, secretary of CPI (ML) Tinsukia District Committee, Subrajyoti Bardhan, member of State committee of CPI(ML), Shikha Das, Shakila Mundu, Debth Manjhi and many distinguished persons were present.

Comrade Rubul Das said that on February 11, 1998, Comrade Anil Kumar Baruah was brutally killed by extremists at Sashoni harkatia during the MP election campaign. All present spoke about the contributions of Comrade Anil Kumar Baruah.
