Compensation demanded

MARGHERITA, July 21: Tinsukia District Student Union president Binoy Dubey has demanded Rs 5 lakhs from Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal as compensation for the family members of the five leaders of All Assam Students’ Union who were killed by the Security forces on February 18, 1994. Binoy Dubey said that during the time of the incident Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal was then president of All Assam Student Union where Sarbanda have himself demanded that the family members of AASU leaders must get Rs 5 lakhs compensation. But now Sarbanda Sonowal is giving Rs 1 lakhs compensation to the family members of five AASU leaders. The five AASU leaders who were  killed by Security forces are Prabin Sonowal Adviser of Tinsukia District Student Union, Pradip Dutta and Debojit Biswas of Talap area, Akhil Sonowal of Dhola Bormura Gaon and Bhaben Moran of Dhulijan 2 Number Tamuli Gaon.
