Compensation for Lalima Devi’s family

Dibrugarh, July 18: The family of Lalima Devi, the victim of the recent outrageous and brutal murder on Awadh Assam Express, was offered a draft to the tune of Rs 5 lakh by MLA Prashanta Phukan and Circle Officer of Dibrugarh West Revenue Circle, Tarali Das on Wednesday. Paying a visit to the residence of the deceased located in Nij Kadamani Path, the amount, made available out of the Dibrugarh District Disaster Management Fund, was offered to Devi’s son. Jitendra Kumar Singh. Phukan, during his visit, assured that the State government would mete out strict punishment to the guilty.
