Compensation to Amguri land owners

SIVASAGAR, March 22: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Thursday distributed compensation to the land owners of Amguri whose lands were acquired for solar power project. Out of 75 land owners whose lands were acquired for setting up Northeast’s first solar project under Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited at Amguri, the Deputy Commissioner distributed compensation cheques to 26 land owners at a meeting held at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner. The highest compensation was an amount of Rs 15 lakh to Kamala Gogoi. The beneficiaries were from Lalimchiga Chapori gaon, Baruah Pukhuri Tea Garden and Gharphalia Japihojia under Gadhulibazar Mouza. Amguri MLA Pradip Hazarika, officers and staff of APGCL of Sivasagar and Amguri were also present on the occasion.
