Complaint against Congress leader

Goalpara, January 16: A public complaint has been filed at the deputy commissioner’s office here against a district Congress leader and two other who have been charged with vitiating peaceful atmosphere of the town. The complaint was filed on Tuesday. According to the content of the petition, AK Rasid Alom, vice president, district Congress, had supplied poor quality relief materials to the victims of the recent Balbala flash flood which resulted in large–scale agitation by the victims. It is also alleged that the Congress leader has been instrumental in illegal encroachment of government land under Dag No.278/876, class iii, in the revenue village of Chandaria Pathar. Another allegation that has been leveled against Alom is that he is politically backing notorious land grabbers.  On the other hand, the petition mentioned that Alom is also a charge–sheeted accused of the sensatiol murder of a son of advocate late KR th and is facing trial in the court of District & Session Judge, Goalpara. Under the circumstances, the sigtories of the petition have demanded immediate and appropriate action against all the three persons.
