Complaint against Smriti Irani

New Delhi, April 16: A court here on Thursday fixed April 25 to hear a complaint against Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani for allegedly misrepresenting facts in her election affidavit. A metropolitan magistrate in Patiala House Court fixed the date on the complaint filed by Ahmer Khan, who has sought action against the minister for lying on oath about her educatiol qualification, Khan’s lawyer said. According to the complaint, Irani, in an affidavit filed for the 2004 Lok Sabha election, declared herself to be a 1996 batch B.A. passout from Delhi University. While in her 2014 Lok Sabha election affidavit, Irani has stated herself to be a 1994 batch B.Com Part 1 from Delhi University.  (IANS)
