Completion of JNKB road demanded

HAMREN, Oct 26: A memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Hamren in West Karbi Anglong district on Thursday. The memorandum was submitted by 12 organizations which demanded completion of the NEC road. They stated, for the upgradation and improvement of the NEC road that connects Jawai-Nortiang Khanduli-Baithalangso covering 59.55 km, crores of rupees had been sanctioned by the DoNER ministry since 2011.  MP Berensing Engti had laid the foundation stone for commencing the works. But the JNKB road improvement and upgradation work remains incomplete, lamented the organizations.

The organizations urged the Chief Minister to intervene and warned that if the government did not fulfill their demand within 20 days then they would intensify their stir. The memorandum was submitted jointly by the Karbi Students Association KSA (Hamren branch), Karbi Unemployed Youth Association (KUYA), Hamren Mahila Samiity (HMS), Karbi Ok Chojor Cholang Asong (KOCCA), Hamren Labour Union (HLU), Tirkim Youth Organization (TYO), Hamren Driver Association (HDA), Hamren Town Club (HTC), Hamren Auto Association (HAA) RADS -NGO, Umtili Youth Association (UYA), besides more than 500 people from all over the district.
