'Comprehensive plan mooted to make Pasighat a tourism hub'

Itagar, Jan 4: Disaster Magement Parliamentary Secretary Kaling Moyong on Wednesday said a comprehensive plan is being chalked out to make Pasighat a hub of tourism activities besides connecting the youth with the rich cultural heritage of the State.

Attending a review meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Smart City foundation Stone laying celebration, scheduled to be held on January 20 and 21 next, Moyong said Pasighat has glorious cultural heritage and scores of visitors from all parts of the globe come to have a glimpse of scenic beauty of the centurion town, an official report said here on Thursday.

“Pasighat has the potential to emerge as the frontline destition on world tourism map and based on this, the centurion town will be developed to realize its tremendous potential ultimately leading to the boosting of its economy,” he said. He hoped that the upcoming celebration would be crowed-pulling and would open immense opportunity in tourism industry.

The MLA appealed the SCCC members and administration in particular and denizens of the town to put all efforts to make the foundation stone laying celebration a grand success.

DC cum chairman of Smart City Celebration Committee (SCCC) Tamiyo Tatak, while reviewing all estimates submitted by various committees and sub-committees, said that good planning and credible performance is an important part of the estimate process.

“The District Administration is committed to extend a helping hand to provide clear plans and priorities and considerable time to SCCC in making the historic event very successful,” he said.
