Concern over Assam students not faring well in all-India exams

gaon, June 30: The gaon District Students’ Union on Tuesday felicitated the meritorious students who have performed well in this year’s HSLC and HS examition. The felicitation function was held at the Khagen Mahanta Auditorium of gaon.

The function was iugurated by AASU vice-president Mani Madhab Mahanta. Iugurating the function, Mani Madhab Mahanta said that it was a matter of concern that students from Assam were not doing well in the all India competitive examitions. The number of successful candidates from Assam in these examitions was very few. Mahanta stressed the need to establish more coaching institutions in Assam so that more students might do well in competitive exams.

Gracing the function as a chief guest, Professor Dr. Jyoti Prakash Tamuli said, “The modern times are very crucial. Information technology has shrunk the world beyond imagition. Google facilitates people to access the world in their rooms. Information is available on the internet but this has not reduced the teacher’s responsibility.”

The function was chaired by gaon AASU president Abhijit Das and the function was conducted by gaon AASU secretary Mun Sarma. The function was attended among other by in-charge secretary of AASU, Duldul Barkakati, Assistant Conservator of Forest, gaon Dimpi Bora and AASU executive members Rantu Sarma, Mridul Hazarika. Hundreds of meritorious students were felicitated in the function.
