Concern over doctors' absence in hospital

SHILLONG, Sept 27: The Women Organisation of Ri Bhoi District (WORD) has expressed concern over the irresponsible ture of doctors at Umsning CHC to cater to the problems encountered by the people of Umsning and adjoining areas. The irresponsible attitude of the doctors at Umsning CHC was found by the leaders of WORD after a surprise inspection around 8PM on Tuesday. The inspection was carried out after numerous complaints were made by the public to the organisation.

During the inspection at the CHC, the organisation led by its general secretary Reviewlett Kylla had interacted with the patients and those people availing medicine from the CHC.

According to the organisation, after interacting with people at the CHC Umsning they were informed that the doctor stationed at the CHC had left the hospital and gone back to Shillong.

The organisation said that because of the lack of doctor at the CHC most of the patients had to go back. In this connection, the organisation will meet the local MLA soon.
