Concern over guthka consumption

MARGHERITA, Dec 22: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chaatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regiol Committee has slammed the Margherita administration for not being able to stop the illegal sale and consumption of gutkha and other tobacco products in Margherita region. Salil Neog and Kanchan Bora, president and general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee, said that in Margherita the guthka mafia had taken control over the sale of guthka and other tobacco products but the administration was not doing anything in this regard. They expressed concern over the fact that school and college students and young people were getting addicted to tobacco products.

The student leaders warned that unless the administration took strong measures to stop the sale of gutkha and other tobacco products in Margherita then AJYCP would launch a massive stir.
