From a Correspondent
MARGHERITA, October 16: The bodies of some youths were recovered some days ago at Ledo. The bodies were floating in Tirap River. The deceased allegedly worked in illegal coal mines. Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner Puru Gupta said that they would conduct a district-level enquiry and cooperate with Coal India Limited so that a correct mechanism could be evolved to stop illegal coal mining in and around Margherita. The environment is also getting affected due to the illegal coal mining and further, many youths who hanker for easy money get into business, said the Deputy Commissioner.
