Concern over rampant killing of rhinos

Golaghat (Dhekial) Nov 12: The All Assam Surrendered ULFA Samiti strongly expressed concern over rampant killing of one-horned rhinos at Kaziranga tiol Park, in a press statement on Saturday. The central committee president Rajkumar Dowarh said that the government had failed to protect Assam’s pride – the world famous one-horned rhinos of Kaziranga tiol Park. He said that if the government could not provide protection to the rhinos, then the charge of protection of rhinos at Kaziranga tiol Park should be given to them. Further, he said that the government should appoint more police personnel, CRPF and Army personnel to kill poachers.

He said that rampant killing of rhinos has continued since the Congress regime and both the Congress and present BJP governments had failed to protect rhinos from the poachers. The Surrendered ULFA Samiti appealed to the government to hand over the charge of protection of rhinos of KNP to them and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat.
