JOYSAGAR, Feb 14: Raising the demand for safety and security of the women of the State, Indian Patriotic Federation (Socialist) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district.
The organization in the memorandum also criticized the role played by the State Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Chandra Mohan Patowary on the floor of the Assam Legislative Assembly regarding the incident in Jorhat recently. Patowary’s comment was politically motivated and the government could not sideline such an important issue as women’s safety, the organization asserted.
