Bongaigaon, April 30: The 11th biennial convention of Assam Press Correspondents’ Union (APCU) ended successfully on Monday in Bongaigaon. An open meeting was held which had been presided over by Manoj Sing, president of APCU. Several noted persons, including ministers Phani Bhusan Choudhury and Chandan Brahma, and Naba Thakuria, secretary of Guwahati Press Club, were present.
Addressing the gathering,  Phani Bhusan Choudhury said that though journalists were the fourth pillar of democracy, yet they were exploited in their field. “We should improve this condition and stop their exploitation,” he said. Chandan Brahma in his speech also assured to cooperate with journalists to solve problems related to their field. A souvenir Nak-kati was unveiled on the occasion.
