Conference of Bengali students' body held

TANGLA, March 20: The 13th Biennial Conference of All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (AABYSF)’s Udalguri district committee was held recently at Tangla.

The   programme started with flag hoisting which was followed by swahid tarpan by Sanjay Sen, vice chairman of Tangla Town Committee and Bappi Sarkar, president of Udalguri district unit of the Bengali Youth Students’ Federation.

In the evening, Rabindra Sangeet, Rabindra Dance and modern dance competitions among kids were organized.

The second day’s programme began with a cultural rally which was iugurated by Jagadish Sarkar, EM of BTC.

The open session in the evening was iugurated by Malay Kr. Lahiri, senior advocate.

 Biswajit Daimari, Rajya Sabha MP attended as chief guest in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Daimary said that now and then the Bengali Hindus have been harassed in the me of D-Voters. He also said that if BPF comes to power with an alliance with BJP after the assembly elections, they will look into the issue. Kamali Basumatary, MLA Panery LAC, Nilotpal Chowdhury, along with the members of district committee of various student bodies attended the meeting.  In the evening, a semir on “Life of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose” was held which was attended by Dr Sushanta Kumar Mitra, former Professor of Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
