Conference of EAC medical officers held

Shillong, April 28: A three-day conference of senior medical officers of all units of Eastern Air Command was inaugurated on April 26 by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command Air Marshal Anil Khosla. 
The event was graced by senior medical officials of the IAF. Khosla stressed the importance of the role of medical services in operational readiness of the IAF. He emphasized the importance of a robust fighting force as well as maintenance of a positive physical, mental and spiritual health.   
The conference was attended by around 36 medical officers from various AF stations.  It also focused on the lessons learnt during the exercise Gaganshakti, which was conducted recently, that aims at medical preparedness for unconventional warfare, mass casualty evacuation from an Air Force Station in the Northeast to Kolkata International Airport. During the conference, various issues including public health, casualty evacuation, disaster management, aid to civil authorities etc. were discussed.  The principal medical officer of Eastern Air Command shared his vision on the future of the IAF medical services with the medical officers and advised them to stay up to date with medical advances and research.
