Conference on youth entrepreneurship

Guwahati, Dec 10: In order to take the initiative of promoting entrepreneurial spirit amongst the youth of Assam, Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) in partnership with Employment Generation Mission (EGM), and CII is going to conduct a one-day conference, “Nurturing Youth Entrepreneurship” tentatively on January 5 next year in Guwahati, stated a press release.

The conference will showcase and award star entrepreneurs created over the years by BYST. These youth icons will be a source of inspiration and encouragement to potential entrepreneurs connected to the program.

Lakshmi V. Venkatesan, Founding Trustee and Executive VP, BYST said, “We are expecting to bring-in close to 200 youth entrepreneurs from different parts of Assam and we propose to recognise top performers developed over the years with awards for excellence. Apart from this, the winners of the recently concluded Business Idea Contest 2015, will also be awarded in the festival.”

The sessions planned for the conference include debates, discussion, stage plays, exhibition, disbursements of loans and other features that would not only be informative but will also make the audience enjoy entrepreneurship.

Explaining about the work carried out by BYST, Abhijit Barooah, Member Strategic Committee, BYST, Assam & Co-Chair, CII North East Council said, “BYST is a non-profit organization established in 1992 to help disadvantaged Indian youths to develop their business ideas into viable enterprises. The organisation provides fincial assistance through partner Banks and mentoring support to the selected young entrepreneurs.”
