Confiscation of Rose Valley assets in Tripura ordered

AGARTALA, Jan 21: The Tripura government has issued a notification instructing all concerned government agencies to confiscate all the properties owned by the Rose Valley in Tripura.

According to sources at least 20 movable and immovable properties owned by the Rose Valley chit fund in seven of the eight districts of Tripura has so far been identified by the state government.

All the 23 sub-divisiol magistrates and DMs of eight districts have been instructed to take necessary action to confiscate the properties.

The instruction has been issued under the provisions of the Protection of Depositors Interest Act.

Opposition political parties were alleging that the Left Front government of Tripura is weak to some of

the chit funds including Rose Vally and are not taking any action.

The matter recently came to fore when the Congress MLA Ratan Lal th in a press conference alleged that the Rose Vally is still running business in Tripura with patronization from the state government.

He accused that the Rose Valley park in the southern outskirt of Agartala is doing huge business but not paying any tax for last two years. He said the state government is totally aware about it and maintaining silence.

The allegation got currency when the fince minister Bhanu Lal Saha refused to reply when reporters drew his attention to the allegation.
