Confusion over ban on plastic bags in Dibrugarh

From a Correspondent
Dibrugarh, April 12: Confusion has been brewing up among the business community of the town following a self-contradictory directive issued by the chairman of  Dibrugarh Municipality Board ( DMB), Anuradha Dey which stated that those who want to sell and use plastic bags have to take permission from the municipal authority by depositing a sum of  Rs 4,000 monthly. Earlier, by an order the DMB had issued a ban on sale and use of plastic bags in the town. This recent directive, on the other hand, has raised questions regarding the earlier prohibitory ban issued by DMB on the use and sale of plastic in the town.
