Congress a frying pan, BJP a burning oven: Manik Sarkar

AGARTALA, Nov 28 : Unlashing a blistering attack on the Congress and the BJP, Tripura  Chief Minister Manik Sarkar termed the former as a ‘frying pan’ and the later as a ‘burning oven’ and warned people to think twice before stepping into their trap.

Launching the campaign for the Left Front candidates for the forthcoming municipal election in the State he urged the people not to cast a single vote in favour of these two parties who are liable for all miseries the country is facing now. The Left Front is controlling all the 20 municipal bodies in the State including the Agartala Municipal Corporation barring the Ambassa Muicipal Council that are going for polls on December 9.

The chief minister asked the voters to compare the activities of the bodies run by the Left Front and the Congress before deciding about their vote.

Addressing two meetings in support of the Left Front candidates for AMC he claimed that Agartala is one of the cleanest cities in the country and the civic amenities available in Agartala can be comparable with any advanced city. He admitted that some of the essential amenities like sufficient water are lacking in the newly extended areas of the corporation and assured that the government is preparing detail plan to address these problem. Sarkar said his government is making all plan considering what can be the demand for next 20 years.

He did not miss the chance to criticise the NDA government in the centre and said the Left Front is like a roof over your head and people’s rights will remain protected in their hand. He also assured that all the homeless families will get home by next four years.
